Visiting Our New Grandson

Saturday we drove up to Bear Valley Springs, California, which is outside of Tehachipi.  Of course we were going to see our new Grandson, Christopher.

Before we left, we called to arrange a BBQ dinner, we’d get the meat and veggies and they would do the grilling.  My son said the weather said it might rain, but NO snow.  GUESS WHAT?  We arrived in Bear Valley Springs and 1/2 way to his house I saw something float past the windshield and moments later a bunch of little white things were floating by.  Shortly it shifted between rain and flakes of snow. It only lasted a couple minutes, but we got our first snow of the year.

Christopher was born August 30 and that is the only time we saw him until Saturday.  We did not want to share our colds with the baby so we waited to visit until we were both well.

We are getting tired of indecision.  Sharon and I are starting a plan to get out of this warehouse.  Our decision is to see if we can do it in a six months plus six months program.   Our idea it to put a plan together in the first six months and complete the plan in the last six months. Of we would work on our ideas throughout the year.

We need an income and we need to empty a 6000 square foot warehouse.  The contents of our warehouse is the source of our current income.  That is our “Catch 22” or  “Damned if we do or damned if we don’t” problem.  We need to come up with a way to have an ongoing income that is enough to support us and at the same time get rid of everything we current use to make our living.  YIKES!  That is scary.

Neither of us has any retirement or savings.  I have Social Security, and can earn up to $1000 a month before I’m penalized.  Sharon is too young for SS and never worked to earn a Social Security Income.

I believe this plan is absolutely doable.  It will just take more discipline and working when were are at work.

So, “Today is the first day of the rest of our lives”.  We have begun a new test of our resolve to move forward.
