Getting Used To More Time
Since we have the house we are getting use to more time to ourselves. The problem is that time is in front of the TV. We were up until 12:30 last night. What a waste. I can see that it is easy to get addicted to television. Remember, we had ours turned off for 3 years. Then we turned it on for 2 years following 9–11 and then we had it turned off for 2 years. We only watched it on rare occasions.
Up until we moved into the house we just did not watch TV. Since we have been in the house for 1 1/2 months we have watched more TV than we had in those two years it was off.
Life without TV was great. I am not so sure of life with TV. It occupies time. It fills a void, but I thinks books, study or talk would be a better use of that time.
We never watch TV in the motorhome. Well, I take that back. We have turned it on a couple times, but I have never seen a complete program in the Bounder. Sharon has seen a couple as I slept. TV is just not a high priority for us when camping or any other time.
I have even thought about taking the TVs out of the Bounder to cut a little weight and free up some space for something else.
Sharon and I need to watch our finances carefully. It is easy to get lulled into a false sense of security. We are doing fairly well at the moment, but we need to stay on our toes and not slip into complacency. TV watching could spell a problem for us if we are not very careful.
