It is only 4 days until Christmas Eve.  I will be at my younger son’s house then.  We will spend Christmas in the mountains and the cold.  No, we will not take the motorhome.  It is just to expensive to drive for just a trip to the kids house.  With gas at $2.15 it would cost $129 for the round-trip. 

There needs to be some planning when taking the Bounder out.  The price of gasoline fits into that planning. That is the primary reason we are normally camped within 30 miles of home.  The exception to that is when we go to a rally.  Some of those are between 200 and 300 miles away. 

When we go to a rally we always try to take at least one extra day, but usually it is two or three extra days.  This turns a rally into a mini-vacation.  It also make spending that much on gas more worth while.  It is hard to justify a 200 mile trip for a weekend, but for 4 or 5 days, it then becomes a better investment.
