Beautiful Day On The Coast

It is a beautiful day on the coast here in Southern California.  We just got back from the Farmer’s Market in our harbor.  We bought fresh fruits and vegetables.  I told Sharon to stop buying fruit at the store.  It is all picked early and bland.  Most is like eating soft cardboard.   The produce from the Farmer’s Market is fresh and ripe.  Best of all it has great flavor.

Right now is one of the peak strawberry picking seasons.  Truck loads of them keep filling the local packing houses.  As we walk by them, the aroma of fresh strawberries fills the air.  Our car was full of strawberry smells on the way home from the Farmer’s Market.  Guess what I’ll have in my cereal in the morning.

It is funny to feel like it is later in the day and it is not.  Going back to standard time has my internal clock confused.  Luckily we work for ourselves and the time change doesn’t mean that much to us.  We can adjust our schedules to daylight and not worry about coming home in the dark and having things that have to get done, but can’t be done easily in the dark.

We are seriously thinking we need to go camping this coming week.  I think we will go out Wednesday early and come home Thursday late. Since camping is close, that is easy to do.  Even after we check out of the campground around noon, we just go park by the beach and spend the rest of the day by the water.
