Going Camping At The Beach Today
We are almost ready to go. Showered, shaved and only a few items to put in the Bounder. Then we are off for a day and night at the beach. As I said yesterday, this is a test to see if the loose hose fixes my back firing problem. ANY EXCUSE! Right?
My ladder to the roof of our motorhome had come loose at a couple connections. To fix this I was going to have a welder spot weld the loose joints. Instead, I used a low temperature aluminum brazing rod to do the job myself with only a propane torch. It seems to do a good job. Maybe you have been to a fair or other vendor gathering where a guy is welding with a propane torch. Maybe even welding on an aluminum beverage can. This is what I'm talking about. I have pictures and will write an article about it.
I am ready to load the Bounder with the last minute stuff. Talk to you later.
We are at the beach at our campsite. The campground has a sign that says FULL on week-ends. There is plenty of room during the week during this early season.
I am really glad we made this decision to go camping. It is very relaxing. HOWEVER, the test drive failed. We are still dieseling and back firing, but not quite as bad as before.
Before we arrived at the campground, Thornhill Broom, we parked about a mile up the coast for about 3 hours. We saw one seal and quite a few dolphins . They were very close to shore and we got a number of good pictures.
9:00 p.m. What a fantastic day. We saw more dolphins today than we ever have along the coast. The treat of the day was sunset when we had at least a dozen dolfins out directly in front of us. We could have sat in the Bounder and watched them straight out the door, but we moved down on the beach. We watched the sun set and we watched dolphins. What a treat. This has been an excellent day
Dinner was BBQed steak outside on our picnic table. We had a campfire going and just enjoyed the evening. Wish you were here to enjoy it with us.
